New ways to learn to read
The project enables children with special needs not to be left behind and supports them in learning to read parallel to their school lessons.

Projekthintergrund
The ability to read plays a particularly important role in the learning and school success of our children. Those who do not succeed in learning to read and write in elementary school have poor chances of a successful school career. Although the percentage of fourth graders who can read very well has risen in recent years, one-fifth do not even reach an intermediate level of proficiency. This reading deficiency can have serious consequences for the children concerned in their further schooling and also affect their future everyday and professional lives.
Target Group
The primary target group of this project are children of primary school age with reading, spelling or arithmetic difficulties. Here, children with a migration background are comparatively well represented.
Project Goals
The project offers effective help that enables children to learn successfully in a short time and lays the foundation for a positive learning biography. Regaining a zest for learning and life enables the students to actively participate in society. In the reading rooms the children learn to read using the Rabanus method. This method uses finger signs to teach confidence in translating letters into sounds and in combining sounds to form words. The method can be adapted to the individual needs and pace of each child. The associated work program builds up the requirements of the learning process systematically and step by step. For children from financially weak families, there is the possibility of partial and full scholarships, so that they too can have a successful school career.
THE PROMOTION OF THIS PROJECT IS COMPLETED
