help alliance expands its global commitment

We will continue to expand our global commitment in 2025! We are supporting fourteen new development projects initiated by Lufthansa Group employees. We are also adding 14 more community projects from around the world to our portfolio.

The organisation is also adding a further fourteen community projects from around the world to its portfolio. In total, help alliance is now active with 73 projects in 43 countries, making an important contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. help alliance’s development projects aim to improve the educational opportunities of children and young people and to promote the work and income opportunities of young adults. As usual, these projects are initiated by employees and supervised on a voluntary basis. The diversity of airlines and business units from which the project coordinators come is greater than ever before. The new project coordinators are from Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Eurowings, Lufthansa Airlines, Lufthansa Systems, the Lufthansa Group, Miles & More, SWISS and time:matters, among others.

Geographically, the new projects are spread across two locations in Europe (Germany and Italy), ten in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America.

Lokales Engagement durch Community-Projekte

We are also adding a further fourteen community projects from around the world to our portfolio.In addition to the multi-year development projects that are proposed by Lufthansa Group employees and run with high funding amounts, help alliance also promotes the local involvement of Lufthansa Group employees through so-called community projects. The employees who are involved in a community support their projects primarily through personal commitment. They contribute their time, energy and expertise. Their commitment ranges from renovation work to promoting inclusion in schools and supporting women in their training as seamstresses. Since this year, they can also apply to us for financial support for their local activities.

After a pilot phase with four projects last year, 14 new projects were added in 2025.

Successful project completion in Syria
In the last 2 years, over 100 orphans who lost their families in the Idlib earthquake in February 2023 have been rescued in Syria. Three of these children are the brothers Esat, Phekda and Aadil, whose story was provided to us by our partner organization and we would like to share.

In December 2024, a donation of €10 will automatically be made to the help alliance when you purchase a Lufthansa Life Collection suitcase in the color Sage (trolley sizes S, M and L). The campaign is running exclusively at Worldshop and supports the “Safe Home, Buenos Aires” project.
