help alliance funds 17 new projects in 2022
17 new projects that create prospects for young people
After last year’s project work was affected by the difficulties of the Corona pandemic, it is very gratifying that help alliance will support 17 new projects this year. This means that the Lufthansa Group’s aid organization is benefiting from the worldwide trend toward relaxation, which is making travel and physical coming together easier again. This is also reflected in the projects, which will be implemented in six new project countries (Argentina, Italy, Iraq, Cameroon, Colombia, Philippines), among others. As in the past, the projects were selected from suggestions made by employees and are supervised and managed by them as volunteer project leaders.
With its work, help alliance is making an important contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) “Quality education” (SDG 4) and “Decent work and economic growth” (SDG 8). The Corona pandemic also had an impact on the development and education of young people in the Global South, and therefore help alliance’s new projects support providing equal opportunities for children and young people after this difficult time.
“The variety and number of new projects shows that the crisis of the past two years is as good as over, but that there is nevertheless a particularly great deal for us to do now as an aid organization. That’s why I’m all the more pleased that so many dedicated colleagues want to give young people around the world a good future with their individual projects, and that we can support them in doing so.”
– Andrea Pernkopf, Managing Director of help alliance
With its new projects, help alliance underscores the need to strengthen the Lufthansa Group’s social commitment, especially after the Corona pandemic.
