Education kits for 500 children in Liberia
In the project Empowering Families, Educating Children, Monrovia, which has been funded since the beginning of the year, 500 children who were previously out of school have already been enrolled and provided with education kits. These “education kits” contain everything a child needs for a successful first day at school: a school bag, a school uniform, exercise books, pens and erasers. After all, children can only learn if their families are able to finance their school attendance and support them in their learning in the long term.
The project is being implemented in Liberia, one of the most underdeveloped regions in the world (UNDP, 2024). Many families are unable to send their children to school due to a lack of financial resources, e.g. for school materials. Especially in rural communities, education often remains an unattainable dream for many boys and girls. Yet education is the key to overcoming poverty and creating new prospects for the future in the country.
